A VILE mum deliberately held her adopted child in a boiling hot bath that burned her so baldy her toes had to be amputated.
Madison was burnt at her home in Tuscon, Arizona in December 2016 when she was just five-years-old and suffered third-degree burns to more than 80 per cent of her body.
Madison’s burns are so severe she will have to undergo regular surgical treatment for the rest of her life in a bid to manage the scarring which covers her body from her chest to her feet.
Mum Samantha Osteraas, 30, held the little girl down with a pink towel, jurors heard during her trial.
The attack took place shortly after she adopted the child with husband Justin, and waited for hours before seeking help for the burns.
At her trial Osteraas claimed Madison had accidentally caused the injuries herself but medical experts disproved those claims.
She was found guilty and banged up for 15 years.
During sentencing she read out a statement: “I want you to know I take full responsibility for anything that could have caused my daughter to be injured.”
She added that none of what Madison suffered was the girl’s fault.
It was reported that Osteraas has now lost custody of her three biological children and her husband has filed for divorce.
Officials revealed how Madison spent five years in foster care before being adopted, including time in the home of a registered paedophile.
