A DAD has won over the web after he asked his daughter what “lady” was bothering her at work after she told him she had to leave because of “lady issues.”

Kiera Platt, 25, from New York, shared a screenshot of her father Mitch's text messages to her on Twitter, explaining: “I told my dad I went home early from work because of 'lady issues.’”

Hilariously, her doting dad then responded: “Aww s***. Which lady bothered you enough to go home??

“U want me to speak to that b****!?”

The comical post has now been “liked” more than 68,000 times and retweeted over 18,000 times.

Many Twitter users were quick to praise Mitch for being “pure” in not knowing what his daughter meant.

One tweeted: “Your dad seems too pure for this planet”.

But while many thought that Mitch was being serious with his texts, some wondered if it was just a “dad” joke.

One added: “Is he being serious or is this one of the greatest dad jokes of all time? I can't tell”.

And it does turn out that Mitch was trying to make Kiera laugh - which he did.

Kiera told Buzzfeed: “He's the master of 'dad joke’.

“He's never failed at being awkwardly funny.

“When I was a teenager I used to feel embarrassed by it but now I embrace it.

“I couldn't imagine his sense of humour being any other way.”

And Kiera frequently takes screengrabs of her father's funny messages to share online.

In a tweet captioned “Mitch part 3485937”, Kiera shared the text: “Good Morning!! Looks like a nice day! See you around 11:45. F*** you.”

In another, her dad texted her: “There are time when I feel so close to you I feel like you could be my daughter!”
