The German World Cup winner launched Mangal Doner in Cologne over the weekend - with the store's opening met with hungry crowds.
Lucky kebab-lovers even managed to get an autograph from the footballer, who opened the store after falling in love with the late night snack while in Turkey.
Posing with his thumbs up after the opening, the former Arsenal star thanked fans, saying: "A night to remember in Cologne, the beginning of a new fun chapter.
"The best döner out there. Thank you all for coming and I hope you enjoyed it !"
He had put on a show for those who crowded to get a taste of the kebab, posing with a knife and slicing off some meat to complete the snack.
