ACTRESS Laila Rouass has revealed she was once raped.
The 47-year-old TV star, who has appeared in Footballers’ Wives, Holby City and competed on Strictly Come Dancing, says she reported the crime to the police.
But she was told she was “unlikely” to successfully prosecute her attacker.
Commenting on shamed American comedian Bill Cosby’s conviction for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman, Laila tweeted: “It’s encouraging to see Cosby jailed for his crimes.
“I was raped by someone I knew and once I found the courage to report it to the police I was advised by them not to take it any further because it would be unlikely to get a conviction. I shed so many tears.”
Laila, who is engaged to five-time world snooker champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, 42, also revealed she has been suffering from “catastrophic thinking” as a result of being caught up in last year’s Barcelona terror attack.
The mother of one was in the Spanish city when terrorists drove into a crowd, killing 13 people.
Laila said: “There is this thing called catastrophic thinking.
“I get on a plane and I think it’s going to crash.”
