FASCINATING new pictures retell some of history's most iconic moments in colour - thanks to the work of a Brazilian artist.
Marina Amaral has colourised a series of photos that tell the story of some of the defining historical moments of the last 150 years.
One image shows Hitler posing in traditional German lederhosen.
Another shows Howard Carter discovering the tomb of the pharaoh Tutankhamun.
As well as epic moments from history, she has transformed famous faces — for example, giving comedy legend Charlie Chaplin back the blue eyes that women were said to swoon over.
The collection of images are extracted from 'The Colour Of Time' by Dan Jones and Marina Amaral.
Artist Marina Amaral, a 24-year-old from Brazil says: “Every completed work has gone through long and in depth research, and is supported by the opinions of experts in each particular area if necessary, to faithfully reproduce the original colours and atmosphere.”
