A STUDENT who claims her millionaire lover battered her over a 'revealing' Instagram snap has released a recording of the moments before the alleged attack.
Melissa Gentz, 22, had already released snaps of her injuries but now she claims to have recorded Eric Bretz, 25, verbally abusing her.
The family of the wealthy heir boyfriend - who strongly denies the claims - have announced they intend to sue the student for releasing these images.
But Miss Gentz has now released what she says is a recording of part of the alleged fight on September 23.
In it she can be heard crying while a man yells: “Why are you so dumb?
“Stop being stupid, see...I already told you, see. Stop being dumb.”
He then goes on to shout: “You do not accept the man who has more dominance than you.
“You do not accept, you think you're the man of the relationship.
“But you're not, you're a woman, you see, you have to accept that.”
Sickening snaps shows a large cut across her forehead, the left side of her face completely bloodied and her eyes bloodshot after the alleged attack.
Melissa claims Bretz became irate after he saw a photo of her wearing a black spaghetti strap top with her hair tied up.
She told police he threw her to the floor, booted her in the face and wrapped his legs around her throat to cut off her air supply, Tampa Bay Times reported.
He then allegedly pulled out chunks of her hair and threw her around with the rest of her locks, before striking her forehead with a bottle.
The day after he was arrested, she shared a photo of her initial Instagram snap, with the caption: "I'm re-posting this photo because my ex-boyfriend deleted it without me seeing.
"He said that women with boyfriends could not have photos 'showing breasts' on Instagram."
She added: "He said that I needed to accept my reality because I was the woman of the relationship."
A police report claimed Bretz, who usually takes medication for his insomnia, because "argumentative and jealous" after taking his daily dose, at around 4.11am.
Melissa told police he snatched her phone and began to "bother" her so she tried to punch him, before he allegedly battered her.
A report from law enforcement officials claims Bretz allegedly drank at least four beers and three quarters of a wine bottle on the night of the incident.
Almost one week later, Melissa shared the snaps alongside the lyrics of a song David Holt wrote for her.
It features the words: "Golden flower do not cry anymore the worst is already behind.
"I know that I still hurt too. Praying for peace."
Bretz's father owns one of Brazil's largest food shopping chains, and the family is deemed one of the nation's wealthiest.
He was released from the Hillsborough County jail two days later, on $60,000 bail, agreeing to a restraining order which stop shim having any contact with Gentz, and entering her uni campus.
But Bretz's lawyer told Mail Online that "the domestic violence injunction filed by the ‘victim’ was dismissed after a hearing by Judge Perrone.
"In addition, the state prosecutor dropped the charge of tampering with a witness."
That lawyer then added: “Unlike the 'victim' who is trying her version of the events through social media; we have advised our client to pursue his position in a court of law that is designed to settle disputes through the legal process.
“Ultimately, the court will decide what really happened and what should be done about it. We are confident that Erick will be vindicated.”
Response to Erick Bretz's to the abuse claims
It reads: “United States law presumes that he is innocent until proven guilty by a jury.
“The law provides the process where the testimony of witnesses and the introduction of evidence is presented to a jury for consideration and analysis.
“Ultimately, the jury will make a determination if Mr. Bretz has committed any crime.
“What has been portrayed in the media is not an accurate or a complete version of the facts and physical evidence.
“The media has sensationalized the allegations of Melissa Gentz and created ‘Fake News.’ “His attorneys will present testimony of witnesses and evidence demonstrating Erick’s innocence.
“Some of the indisputable facts and evidence supporting Erick’s innocence are:
“1. Tampa police officer, Charles Eason, interviewed Melissa Gentz about her claim of domestic violence.
“In his report he documented that Melissa Gentz told him that she “…push and attempt to punch him after she believed he took her cellphone.”
“2. Melissa Gentz claimed she was strangled and struck in the face multiple times. However, physical evidence reveals no sign of trauma to her neck.
“His hands have no signs consistent with striking someone multiple times.
“3. Erick Bretz has no history of ever committing violence against women.
“4. Tampa police never gave Erick Bretz an opportunity to explain what happened.
“5. Evidence will show that Melissa Gentz was drinking and consuming drugs prior to the incident she has alleged.
“6. Evidence will show that Melissa Gentz attacked Erick Bretz sending him to a hospital.
“The evidence in this case clearly dictates that Ms. Gentz was the aggressor.
“Erick and his legal team will bring all the facts of this incident to light and expose her account as simply untrue and that Erick is innocent.
“In the end, Mr. Bretz and his family will prosecute Ms. Gentz for her slanderous and libelous actions.
“They will seek to recover damages for the harm to his and his family’s outstanding reputation.”
